This post is a part of a series intended to highlight one camera at a time. Please submit pitches to me, Kendall, if you have a camera and photos you’d like to share. You can look at photos from my favorite digicam, a viral 35mm point and shoot, and a newer Canon PowerShot linked.
I brought my Canon Rebel 2000 SLR camera with me to Barcelona + Berlin, which was an unusual choice because this camera is so big. It was cool though. The physical sensation of taking a picture on this one is so pronounced, it really pulls you into the experience of photographing something! I feel like we’ve been sold a myth that it’s “good” or desirable for a camera to go unnoticed. Sometimes it’s sweet to pull out a clunky piece of technology, take a picture that everyone knows is being taken, and then put it away. Especially when you’re around a kid! 💓

Thanks for reading! Grateful for each of you. Special thanks to Kris for some pointers, this was my first time using Lightroom to do some basic color correction on the scans.
